Details: Garden View Cottage is in the pretty village of Papcastle, just a mile from the popular town of Cockermouth where you will find small shops, cafes, a Sainsbury’s and even a small cinema, as well as riverside walks and the Jennings brewery. It is the birthplace of William Wordsworth you can visit his home giving you an idea of life in Cockermouth during that period.

The village of Papworth has a pub within walking distance of the cottage serving real ales and good home cooked bar meals.

Accommodation: The cottage is well equipped has a fully fitted kitchen, with electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, and washing machine. Outside is a large outhouse with tumble dryer providing ideal storage facility for bikes, canoes, climbing equipment etc. The lounge has TV Sky freeview, video and DVD player, as well as books and boardgames. There is a bed settee in the sitting room which folds out into a single bed. Upstairs there is a bathroom which is fitted with a shower and a double bedroom. Outside at the rear is a patio and seating area having a southerly aspect.

Loweswater Lake is the closest lake with beautiful woodland walks within a fabulous location. For the more energetic, Skiddaw is one of the highest mountains in the Lake District and is a fifteen minute drive away. If you manage to reach the top you will be rewarded with stunning views across the lake district.

Keswick is another very popular town about twenty mins drive away. There you can visit Derwent Water, buy outdoor gear and discover many other activities, such as walking, rock climbing & abseiling, cycling and horse riding.
