Details: High House holiday cottage offers stylish self-catering accommodation. The house is stunning throughout with attention to detail that makes this house a cut above the rest. The views from the house are spectacular towards Irton Church and then to the mountains beyond. From the house you can walk to the church which has an ancient cross erected in the 9th Century. Situated just outside Holmrook village and with easy access to the A595, High House is superbly located to explore the Western Lake District fells and Cumbrias west coast.

Accommodation: High House is in beautiful order throughout and can sleep up to 6 people in 3 beautiful bedrooms. Downstairs the kitchen is large and has ample room to cook & dine, plus a comfy sofa making this a real living kitchen. It is fully equipped with gas range with electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and plenty of storage space. A separate convenient utility room also houses a washing machine and tumble drier.

The spacious sitting room enables guest to relax and unwind in comftable surroundings and includes TV, DVD player, woodburning stove & CD player. For more formal dining, there is a table to seat six in stylish surroundings. The room is cool in summer and warm in winter with a wood burning stove. There is also a separate toilet downstairs.

Leading to the first floor are some delightful stone stairways which are over three hundred years old. On the first floor guests will find one king sized bedroom with en-suite (bath, shower & toilet) &, one double bedroom, plus a separate bathroom (toilet & shower).

At the top of the house is the attic suite with “retreat room” allowing guests to take advantage of the stunning views. There is also a further double bedroom also with views and en-suite (shower & toilet).

Garden Area: Outside the garden covers all sides of the house with a paddock area to the South, decking area (with garden furniture) by the kitchen and lots of nooks and crannies elsewhere. There is also a gin & tonic deck! There are also several acres of woodland leading down to a river, which you are welcome to explore.

Local Area: Just 4 miles away is Wasdale home of Wastwater Lake and is a fantastic place to be when the stars are out on a clear night. Wasdale is a good place to tackle Scafell, (England's highest mountain.) A couple of miles away at Santon Bridge is Country Cuts, a farm shop selling everyday essentials as well as fine quality poultry, meat and game. The Santon Bridge Inn is a good pub with a fine sunday carvery. It is also host to the World's biggest liar competition! Also nearby is Muncaster Castle with its gardens and owl centre, the Ravenglass and Eskdale steam railway, Eskdale with four good pubs and many walks. The harbour town of Whitehaven is 15 miles away, Ennerdale lake is also 15 miles and Loweswater is just a few miles beyond that. Travelling south along the coast is Silecroft beach where you can go horse-riding among the shallow waves.
