Lunefield Farmhouse is a striking 19th Century detached three-storey house, which sleeps 8. Set in a wonderful position on the banks of the River Lune, it has magnificent views of the river and hills beyond.
Perfect for families or gatherings of friends, Lunefield is set in a secluded and quiet river-side location, yet only a five minute walk via a steep hill to the friendly pubs and restaurants of Kirkby Lonsdale. There are four bedrooms (one double and three twins), a bathroom and two shower-rooms, with a sun-room downstairs, and a kitchen-diner and lounge with open fire upstairs. You'll have your own grounds of approximately 2 acres, with a large lawn to the front (garden furniture provided) and a hill behind, where you will be able to spot plenty of birds including our pheasants and resident owl (not too noisy).
Motor vehicles are permitted for access only on the river bank, so you will be undisturbed, except by the families of rabbits who treat the garden as their own. Just on your doorstep are walks along the River Lune, either to the medieval Devil’s Bridge, with plenty of swimming and paddling places, or to the radical steps to see the view Ruskin called the most beautiful in England. Fishing permits for the upper reaches of the Lune, a short distance from Lunefield, are available from the Sedbergh Tourist Information office.
