In contrast to the mountains is the coast at only 30 minutes away why not spend a day on the beach bird watching or toad spotting at coastal nature reserves. Alternatively try kite surfing and building sand castles (not at the same time). This can make a pleasant change from the lakes and hills.

We are particularly family friendly, with children of our own we are aware of the ingredients for a sucessful holiday with your children. We have tried to provide an environment where you can enjoy your holiday without worrying about keeping the children occupied.

SO WHAT IS THE HOUSE LIKE?, Mountain View is a lovingly, renovated 4 bedroom traditional detached house . Renovated by Anthea (the wife) she has kept the old character in the way of beams and curved walls but has also put in up to date features which you would expect in your own home such as central heating,, huge kitchen with lots of appliances and powerful showers.

The spacious living room has a wood burning stove for the traditionalists and TV with freeview and a sky box if you want to bring your own card,, DVD and Hi Fi, and limited WiFi for those who want a little more entertainment.

The bedrooms are lovely, there is plenty of storage and all windows look onto the delightful gardens. Three of the rooms have stunning views over the valley to the fells beyond with the remaining room looking out on the garden. The modern, well equipped kitchens have all that you will need to create gastronomic feasts during your stay.

The main kitchen has plenty of room for mass catering but there is also a smaller fully fitted kitchen if you want to cook separately as two families or groups.

The bathroom is really quite special with the huge tub , so you can start or end your day with a fantastic shower or a very luxurious bath. There is also a second shower room on the top floor.

We welcome well behaved dogs and a lovely nest can be made for them in the downstairs kitchen, we do respectfully ask that they are limited to that room and the large garden.
