Parkergate is a wonderful former working Cumbrian farm, set in beautiful surroundings, with outstanding views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and towards Ullock Pike, Skiddaw and the Northern Fells of Cumbria.

We have four quality self catering holiday cottages available within a recently converted barn, plus The Stable, a newly converted ground floor cottage with disabled friendly access & bathroom all with outstanding views of the surrounding fells and countryside. The main house itself was built in 1767 and is a Grade II Listed Building.

Parkergate has a peaceful location near to Bassenthwaite village, just a few miles from Keswick in the Northern Fells of the Lake District National Park. It is an ideal base for exploring all Lakes, the Solway Coast, the historic border city of Carlisle and even Hadrian's Roman Wall. We must have one of the best locations in the whole of Cumbria for enjoying the spectacular Lakeland sunsets over the North West fells.

Parkergate consists of 5 self catering holiday cottages in converted barns, 4 within one big bank barn and the stable, which is attached to this barn.

Whinlatter & Black Moss - (Both cottages sleep 5 people)
Ullock Pike & Calva - (Both cottages sleep 2 people)
The Stable - (Sleeps 2. Disabled friendly)

Gin Case or threshing room and then used by the previous owners as a foaling room.

The main barn is heated with oil central heating, Black Moss and Whinlatter have open log fires. The Stable has night storage heaters and an electric fan heater in the bathroom.

Well behaved pets are welcome at £15 per week. Please be aware that this is open farmland and dogs MUST be under control at all times.

Washing machine (coin operated) + ironing facilities.
Ample parking facilities.
Shops 5 and 7 miles away (milk delivered to order).
All central heating, power and bed linen included in price.

We can supply logs for open fires at low cost (1st box included in price).
A pet is welcome if well trained.
Cot and high chair available.

PLEASE NOTE: All our holiday cottages are NON-SMOKING.

There are regular public transport services available between the major towns and fell walking and cycle routes are all on your doorstep. The nearest pub to Parkergate is the Sun Inn in Bassenthwaite village which is 1.5 miles from Parkergate provides very good pub food at reasonable prices. The Snooty Fox at Uldale 4 miles away is quieter than the Sun. Lyzzick Hall is 3 miles towards Keswick and is terrific for special meals out.
