Orchard Holme is a stone built cottage adjacent to the owner's property in the pretty village of Priest Hutton between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage has three bedrooms comprising one king size double, one twin and a single with a pull out bed, which with the addition of a sofa bed makes the cottage suitable for up to eight people. There are two family bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a dining room/snug with an open fire and the sofabed and a sitting room also with an open fire. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars, an enclosed front garden and a spacious rear garden with a terrace, furniture and a BBQ. Being so well situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, Orchard Holme is a superb family cottage all year round.

Accommodation: Three bedrooms: 1 x king-size double, 1 x twin, 1 x single with additional pull-out bed. First floor bathroom with bath, shower over, basin & WC. Ground floor shower room with shower, basin & WC. Well-equipped kitchen. Dining room/snug with open fire & sofa-bed. Sitting room with open fire. Sun lounge.

Location: A small village set in beautiful countryside, Priest Hutton is ideally placed for exploring the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. The village comprises a scattering of delightful old cottages and farmsteads, and is close to Borwick Hall, on the Lancaster-to-Kendal Canal. Access to amenities and tourist areas is good - the historic City of Lancaster or the seaside resorts of Morecambe and Blackpool are all within easy reach. The RSPB wildfowl reserve of Leighton Moss is only 5 miles away, while Morecambe Bay is also famous for birdwatching. Other locations worth a visit are the villages of Silverdale and Arnside (overlooking the beautiful Kent Estuary), Ingleton, Settle and Clapham. Levens Hall (famous topiary) and medieval Sizergh Castle with lovely gardens are nearby. There are good pubs and restaurants in the area as well as good walks.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes; the Lake District landscape has inspired several literary greats, including William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. The mountains of Skiddaw, Scafell and Helvellyn provide enjoyable challenges for walkers, whilst at lower levels there are hundreds of routes among the lakes and stone-walled fields. If bustling lakeside towns and exhilarating water sports take your fancy, then Windermere and Coniston Water could be for you!

If its peace and tranquillity you seek then the secluded lakes of Buttermere and Wastwater are not to be missed. Cumbria offers much more than just lakes. Explore the National Nature Reserve on Walney Island or visit the picturesque Duddon Valley. With award-winning gardens and the Lakeland Motor Museum, Holker Hall is a great day out. In northern Cumbria the peaceful villages of Caldbeck and Ireby offer a haven of solitude and tranquillity. To the east lies the green and sheltered Eden Valley . Its dramatic landscape provides a range of activities including walking, cycling and water sports and is home to the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre and Lowther Wildlife Park.
