Details: Welcome to Smallwood House, a family run hotel at Ambleside in the heart of the English Lake District, Cumbria. Everyone at the Smallwood House Hotel takes pride in providing a quality service and friendly environment.

Ambleside is a favourite with walkers and tourists alike, and offers a wealth of activities for all. Grasmere, Windermere, Keswick and the Langdale Valley are all nearby so we are in an ideal location for your short break or holiday. With our private car park you are able to leave your car in safety and enjoy the scenery on foot, by bus or cycle. There is a wealth of fishing in the area and guests of the Smallwood House may use our permits to fish the waters of Windermere, Ambleside & District Angling Association.

Accommodation: All of our 12 rooms are en-suite, most have under-floor heating, all rooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard and have colour TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, clock radios, hairdryers and are fully central heated. Family rooms are available and groups can also be accommodated in twin and triple rooms. Our two single rooms are great favorites with excellent views and finally we offer a romantic four poster room.

Lounge & Dining: We have a residential license therefore you may enjoy a drink in our comfortable lounge before you go out or if you choose dine with us you may also enjoy a drink with your home cooked & freshly prepared meal.
