The 35-acre Langdale Estate is a natural woodland haven with streams and tarns, dotted with massive millstones and other carefully preserved reminders of its history as a 19th century gunpowder works. The Estate offers an impressive choice of 57 en-suite luxury hotel rooms, self catering lodge & apartments, two distinctly styled restaurants, 3 bars, Lakeland pub, conference facilities as well as extensive leisure & health/beauty facilities.

The Hotel: In harmony with this beautiful and peaceful setting, the bedrooms have been converted from original historic buildings close to the Hotel's main facilities, some alongside the sparkling waters of the river, others looking onto high fells or nestling in the wooded beauty of the Estate. Great care has been taken during renovation to retain the character of this unique site whilst still providing luxurious accommodation, modern facilities and impeccable standards of decoration. Local materials have been used throughout and a sense of rural calm maintained. We have a number of family and four-poster rooms, all have free Wi-Fi access & bath robes.

Wine & Dine: It’s all about choice... enjoy fine dining in Purdey’s Restaurant after your meal, before retiring to the sumptuous elegance of the lounge to relax over coffee, or enjoy a nightcap in Hobson's Bar. If you prefer more relaxed dining try the Terrace Restaurant and Café-Bar just above the Country Club. And if that doesn’t suit, a short walk from the main estate is our traditional Lakeland Pub with stone flagged floors, open fires and real ale the newly refurbished Wainwrights' Inn, regularly featured in the Good Pub Guide.

Leisure Facilities: The Langdale Country Club offers a wide range of first class leisure and sporting facilities that members can enjoy in the beautiful surroundings of the Langdale Estate. The heated indoor leisure pool is the centerpiece of the Club; a sub-tropical paradise and the perfect place to relax - lounge at the poolside, swim, or enjoy the soothing spa bath, sanarium and steam room. With outstanding views from the spacious pool, it is a great place to wile away an hour or two.

The Exercise Studio has a good range of Cardiovascular equipment and free weights, qualified consultants can undertake a fitness assessment and design a personal exercise programme for you, plus give advice on lifestyle and nutrition. An out-door tennis court is also available located at Elterwater Hall.
