Cycling
The Lake District offers cyclists an endless choice of largely quite roads, paths, bridleways and specific bike tracks to choose from. Many offer incredible views of the area, with the quality of the views on a given route often dependent on how high in the mountains and fells you are prepared to cycle. Both Whinlatter and Grizedale Forests are literally criss-crossed with different paths and this is a popular choice for family groups of cyclists. For those looking for a more challenging ride, there’s no end of possibilities, just head for the nearest mountain.
