The Lake District and Cumbria is an area of high mountains, huge lakes, clear flowing rivers and an extensive sea coast. It offers anglers virtually every type of coarse, game and sea fishing experience possible. Many regular anglers have discovered specific and sometimes secret places that they have returned to again and again, enjoying their own secluded spot in a wooded stream or riverbank. There are over 100 officially recognised fresh water fishing locations in the Lake District and Cumbria. Fresh water and anglers are responsible for making sure that they have the correct Environment Agency license, plus permission from the landowner before commencing fishing, a license is not required for salt water fishing.
