Walking
Walking is the original pursuit that attracted visitors to the Lake District. Walking through the Lake District has been a popular pastime for hundreds of years with walkers flocking to the region to wonder at the dramatic views and beautiful scenery. Today there are many different ways a walker can enjoy the area. Whether scrambling up a hill, walking with a guided group or travelling from one youth hostel to the next, there's sure to be a form of walking for you. A more recent introduction to the area is a courier service, taking peoples belongings from one place to another so that walkers can spend the whole day walking without their heavy bags and arrive in a new location every day.
