Water Sports
For a region that has more lakes, covering more area, than any other National Park in the UK water sports are an obvious choice as an activity for the more energetic amongst you. The size of the lakes allows for a diverse range of different disciplines. Jet skiing requires a large body of water and is very popular in this region. For those who enjoy a more sedentary pace of life all manor of boats can be hired and sailed, from tiny pedalos and dinghies to large motorboats and even canal boats. Canoeing or kayaking is a great way to enjoy the water whilst staying in shape. The relentless paddling required to move your vessel is a great cardio-vascular workout.
