Coniston 14 Road Race, Saturday 31st March 2012 - The Coniston 14 is probably the most beautiful road race in Britain. Each year it attracts some 1600 runners and has a reputation for being one of the best organised small races in the country. The Race is organised by an enthusiastic committee of volunteers from Coniston village.

The Lake District Hospitality Show - Thursday 14th and 15th March 2012 - The Best of Lakeland Hospitality Show,  is a long-standing fixture in the Lake District Hospitality Calendar. Now in its 36th year it continues to build on its previous success and evolve to meet new and exciting challenges. For the first time in the history of the Show, around 25% of visitors are projected to come from outside the region. Leading an extensive marketing campaign, LHA are marketing the new show both locally and in regions such as Manchester, Liverpool, Blackpool and Newcastle.

Lakeland Sinfonia Concert Hallé - March 17th 2012 - Each year the society hosts a series of performances in lakes leisure Kendal's Westmorland Hall on the edge of the Lake District. Some are subscription concerts, although tickets are available with additional sought-after performances by the Halle and BBC Philharmonic. There's also a Christmas charity concert and over the years, £000's has been raised for local good causes.

Ambleside Daffodil & Spring Flower Show - 31st March to 1st April 2012 - The Ambleside Daffodil & Spring Flower Show is a traditional friendly village show held at the Kelsick Centre, Ambleside. There's open competitive classes in spring flowers, alpine and rock plants, floral arts, photography, handicrafts and cookery, including sugarcraft. Children from local schools and youth organisations will also compete for special trophies for the best grown daffodils, using bulbs provided free by Ambleside Horticultural and Craft Society. Refreshments will be available.
