Houghton Farmer's Market - second Saturday of the month at Houghton village hall from 9am-130pm. There is a wide selection of meat, cheese, bread, cakes, hot food, preserves and lots of craft stalls too. Along side is a coffee morning run by different local charities and organisiations each month.

Brampton Farmer's Market - The market runs from 9.00 to 1.30 on the last Saturday of every month, except December, when it is the third Saturday.

Orton Farmers' Market - held on the second Saturday of every month, with over 35 local farmers, growers, producers & artisan craftsmen offer a tremendous variety of high quality and speciality local produce and crafts.

Kendal Farmers Market - Shop for the very best in local foods and enjoy all that this vibrant market town has to offer. This event is held on the last Friday of each month and is organised by Made in Cumbria.

The Kendal Festival of Food -This year's Kendal Festival of Food is set to kick start the season with an action packed two day event. Building on the successes of previous years it is set to be the most exciting festival yet. A varied programme of chef demos, tastings and master classes is currently being developed. The festival will also include a scrumptious producers' market showcasing the best of the area and heaps of activities for all the family. It's going to be a feast of a weekend with plenty to keep your taste buds tingling!

Coniston 14 Road Race - The Coniston 14 is probably the most beautiful road race in Britain. Each year it attracts some 1600 runners and has a reputation for being one of the best organised small races in the country. The Race is organised by an enthusiastic committee of volunteers from Coniston village.

Lakeland Sinfonia Concert - Each year the society hosts a series of performances in lakes leisure Kendal's Westmorland Hall on the edge of the Lake District. Some are subscription concerts, although tickets are available with additional sought-after performances by the Halle and BBC Philharmonic.
