Bistros & Wine Bars
The Lake District is a place of dramatic scenery containing England's highest peaks and more lakes than any other National Park. This scenery provides an incredible backdrop for bistros and wine bars that can found throughout the region. Due to Cumbria's close association with the farming industry local meat, cheese, eggs and milk often find their way into the bistro's menus. Most of the bistros in the region will have at least one locally produced dish or ingredient on the menu. Unlike the Lake District of Italy wine is not produced here in Cumbria but there is no shortage of wine bars including some that are dedicated solely to organic and ethically produced wine.
