Situated close to the coast on the river Keer, the town of Carnforth has become famous for its impressive railway station, which was used for the setting of the film Brief Encounter. For railway enthusiasts parts of the station which were closed down have recently been renovated by the Carnforth Station Trust. The West Coast Rail Company still continue to carry out work on steam locomotives in the old buildings.

Peaceful and quiet, located in wonderful countryside and regarded as part of the gateway to the Lake District, Carnforth is ideal for exploring everything the area has to offer.
