Windermere
Windermere is a beautiful town in the Southern Lake District, set within the Lake District National Park in Cumbria. Built within half a mile of the lake itself the town has become very popular as a tourist destination and is an ideal base from which to explore this stunning area. A gentle 20 minute walk down the hill will take you to the shores of the lake, where you can take a sedate trip by boat and enjoy the views and maybe stop off and visit one of the other small towns along the shore.
