Workington

Workington is an historic; coastal town in the west of Cumbria. Situated on the West Cumbria coastal plain, at the mouth of the River Derwent and bounded by the Lake District fells it is an ideal location from which to explore the stunning Lake District and the seaside towns along the sweeping coast. With a good railway link and a network of roads which make travelling around very convenient for visitors there is an unlimited choice of things to see and do.

The redeveloped town has a large, modern, award winning shopping centre and has now become one of the major shopping destinations in the area. There are a mixture of ancient Viking and Roman relics to be found around the town itself as well as modern sculptures and works of art....
