Alfred Wainwright's Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells - Buy Now!
No list of Lake District books would be complete with out the inclusion of Alfred Wainwright’s seven books which still remain the most complete guide to the Lakeland fells, despite being first published over 50 years ago between 1955 and 1966. The fells have changed relatively little over this time and hence the books are still very relevant today. The series of seven books are published by Frances Lincoln and printed in Kendal.

This is an excellence book to acquire for all walkers of the Lake District as the book contains many different walks within the Lake District all of which vary in difficulty. Hence depending on the day or the mood you should still be able to find a walk to suite your particular preference. Most of the walks in the book range from about 1 to 7 miles and the walk descriptions are accompanied by maps with the route indicated on them, so there’s no chance of getting lost!
