Laugh all the way to the Lake District!

A brand new Lakes International Comic Art Festival is planned for this autumn and is asking for volunteers with a sense of humour to come along and get involved with the organisation of the event. Kendal is the venue and fun is on the menu as a host of international comedy writers will take to various stages and arts centres to show off their talents.

The organisers are a couple of literary prize winners, Mary and Bryan Talbot, who have invited artists from various comedy backgrounds and genres including TV and comic book script writers, cartoon artists and illustrators, comedians and more in a bid to bring a big smile to the faces of Lake District folk. With artists coming from as far away as America it is hoped that the event will be only the first in a succession of annual festivals offering something a bit different and light hearted for all ages to enjoy. The roles on offer for the volunteers are varied and rewarding, meet and greet the stars of the shows, help out with the venue organisation or be a helping hand to visitors. Training and further information is offered and interested parties should contact the organisers at jan@comicartfestival.com
