Seascale with its history dating back to Viking and Roman times is another pretty little seaside resort well served by the Furness Railway. A place of great interest on the Cumbrian coast is the Sellafield nuclear power station site, well documented in the press as the worlds first commercial site of its kind it continues to fascinate visitors from all over the world.

Ravenglass lies on the river estuary where the Mite, the Esk and the Irt meet the sea and was once an important Roman naval base. The shingle beach leads into the town and its stunning sea cobbled main street. Take a trip back in time and visit the Roman Bath House or the splendid Muncaster Castle

At the end of the day the Solway Coast with its and varied and fragile habitats of raised mires, salt marshes and sand dunes is the place to go to witness some amazing sunsets. So however you choose to while away the days and nights there is something for everyone on the Cumbrian Coast.
