Full Description: Bampton Grange is lies across the River Lowther from the village of Brampton and is located 3 miles northwest of Shap, off the A6, and is an ideal venue from which to explore both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The village is surrounded by farmland and consists of whitewashed cottages, a pub, and houses complete the picture.

St Patrick’s church, rebuilt around 1726-27, is named after the saint of the same name who is believed to have visited the area. However, saint Patrick actually left Cumbria for a life in Ireland when he was quite young, the name of the church may have originally referred to a 13th century lord, Patrick de Culwen.
A selection of accommodation, including hotels, Guest Houses, B&B’s, camping and caravanning sites are located in the area together with tourist attractions and places to eat.
