Full Description:
Carnforth is located to the northern end of Lancashire. It is a beautiful region of England with superb countryside and coast with a fascinating history. Carnforth derived its name from its position by the ford crossing the River Keer and is believed to be of Scandinavian origin as invading Danes settled in this region.

A range of accommodation, numerous shops, a newly refurbished town square, pubs, and restaurants make Carnforth the ideal base to tour the area including the Lake District National Park

Carnforth boasts a superb linear walk ideally suited to trains on the Barrow line. The walk goes up an incline near the start but then it is just up and down over good paths.
