National Club Golfer Magazine for July 2009 featured Cockermouth Golf Course as one of the great places to play en route to Turnberry.Cockermouth course is a great test of golf combined with spectacular scenery. After teeing off you will soon appreciate the views that are opening up around you, some of the finest in Cumbria.

You could be forgiven for that odd errant shot as you take a glimpse of Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw in the background. In the Lorton Valley the mountains of Whiteside, Grassmoor and Melbreak dominate the scene.

On a clear day you can see the Isle of Man and the mountains of Scotland across the Solway.

Visiting golfers are welcome at Cockermouth Golf Course

The Club-house is in the position to enjoy a beautiful view over the valley to the Lorton Fells. The usual facilities are incorporated in the Club-house, together with a full-size snooker table.

Snacks are available most days and full catering is provided on open days and for visiting parties of more than 10 persons.

Tee-times are restricted at week-ends and on Open Competition days the dates for which can be found on our Competitions Tab - please contact the Club for tee availability.
