Full Description: Dubwath is located in the North Western corner of the Lake District National Park close to Bassenthwaite Lake with fantastic views of the famous Skiddaw mountain range; yet just a short drive away are both Keswick and Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth. Whether you visit to see the splendid display of spring daffodils, the summer sunshine, the fantastic autumn colours or the snowy mountains of winter, you will fall in love with it Dubwath, every season has its own beauty and appeal.
The Osprey disappeared in England for over 150 years but has now returned to this region to breed again, the highlight has to be observing the Osprey who swoop for fish for their chicks.

There are 2 sites locally which have been set up to further enhance your viewing, and there are many different bird species to observe. At Dodd Wood there are powerful telescopes and informative Rangers. At Whinlatter Forest Centre a camcorder is placed in the nest so viewer can see the activities on the big screen, including the chicks hatching.
