Kirkby Lonsdale is situated in the South Eastern corner of the County of Cumbria, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks are both near by. The town has many attractions including Ruskin's View and Devil's Bridge. The Forest of Bowland, also an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is located just south of Kirkby Lonsdale.

Each year a Victorian Fair is held in September. People dress up in period clothing and the town is alight with its ancient history. There is entertainment, food and drink street shows and demonstrations.

Kirby Lonsdale has numerous beautiful walks there are a number of old historic buildings. The town itself has remained unspoilt and contains lots of natural beauty. The surrounding area contains lots of natural beauty which remains untouched and has retained lots of its original attractions.

A short distance from Kirby Lonsdale is Windermere and the southern side of the Lake District. There are many other places within striking distance, one of these is the Yorkshire Dales, there are caves and waterfalls along with halls and gardens, the Leighton Moss Nature Reserve is also worth a trip. There are some amazing views which can be truly appreciated whilst taking a trip on the Settle- Carlisle railway.

There are many varied shops which have unusual character and charm there is something to suit everyone. A lot of the shops have retained their original architecture and are very individual and unique. Kirby Lonsdale is well known as a shopping area and people travel especially to see the fine range of shops and buildings.
