Full Description: Shopping is concentrated around Kendal and Windermere in the southern area of the lakes. In Kendal you can find a mix of factory outlet shops, chain names, traditional markets and specialty shops. There are quite lanes and courtyards situated around the market place here tucked away you will find the most interesting shops. Kendal outdoor market fills the town every Saturday and Wednesday.

Keswick in the northern lakes has a fantastic choice of outdoor shops, craft shops, bookstores and wool-clothing stores which are tucked away on the cobbled streets.
