Coniston

Coniston is an historic village situated on the edge of Coniston Water, beneath the dramatic backdrop of the Old Man of Coniston, and is a favourite place for walkers, fell runners and climbers. The local slate quarries at Tiberthwaite attract many visitors and examples of the green slate can be seen in and around the village.

There are several famous beauty spots in the area and there are also many places of interest to visit including a number of National Trust sites. Ferry and boat trips across the lake are very popular with visitors.
